From booking to pickup, everything was very straightforward. We rented a Fiat Panda, took a few trips with it, and even though it wasn't exactly a horsepower monster, it handled the hills and slopes well. There were two of us, but it would have been too small for more people, as you can imagine.

Handover at the hotel was seamless; we even received the car a day earlier than reserved (with prior notice). The staff was friendly. Returning the car was equally commendable; we simply left the keys at the hotel reception. The car itself was clean but not up to German standards – a Fiat Tipo sedan (e.g., no electric windows in the back, USB port available but no connection with my Samsung phone). However, the car got us from A to B without any problems.

Very friendly and fast service. The car was delivered to the hotel and keys were collected at the reception desk at no extra charge. The same goes for the child seat. A large selection of cars. I recommend the hybrid. Driving in these mountains with significant elevation changes seems optimal; the hybrid simply has a place to recharge.

I've rented many vehicles, both for business and on vacation, but the uncomplicated and friendly service here is unmatched. The crew's motto could easily be: "We work magic instantly, but miracles take a moment." I can absolutely recommend Autokreta in every category. And for those who feel a bit uneasy about booking online, I suggest picking up the phone and experiencing their top-notch service firsthand. One more thing: I'm sure some people might manage to snag a better price with another rental company, but please remember me if the return process isn't as smooth as it always has been with Autokreta. I'd much rather spend the extra time often needed at airport check-in than arguing about insurance intricacies when dropping off the car ;-)

So far, everything was great.

In March, the prices were among the lowest. I didn't have to pay in advance; I could pay in cash. Therefore, I didn't have to provide a credit card, and there was no deposit. This is fantastic because you usually don't get deposits back if you provide a credit card somewhere; the operators often charge you again. I booked directly with Autokreta, so I didn't have to pay for double insurance, as I would have if I had booked through a second or third-party provider, which is often the case with other providers in Crete, for example, if you book through check24.

So far, I'm satisfied. The only downside was that our child seat wasn't the one we had booked. It requires an Isofix, but the car we received didn't have one, so it came with a forward-facing child seat. However, we did get a better car overall.

The staff were friendly and helpful during pick-up and drop-off.

We can wholeheartedly recommend Autokreta. Super friendly contact and quick responses. Initially, I was a little skeptical because of the very good reviews, but they're definitely well-deserved. Traveling abroad can often make you feel uncertain due to the different driving culture (we certainly do). This concern was immediately put to rest; the car was in perfect condition, and we were spared the hassle of documenting any scratches or damage. If something were to happen, even if it was someone else's fault, then "that's just how it is." We would simply have had to report such damage to them – everything was insured. To be perfectly clear, you won't get ripped off here – everything was, as I said, pleasant and straightforward. We'll be insisting that all our acquaintances and friends who book Crete in the future book with them. It really couldn't be better!

Super service car was brought to the hotel on time by a very friendly man who spoke good German gave us tips where the nice spots were. Car was well maintained and in super condition I would definitely recommend this company

A truly fantastic car rental company. We received a great welcome and everything went smoothly. The car was in top condition, and we were able to experience many amazing things with it.
The service and warm friendliness of Emmanouela and Angeliki were truly fantastic, and we immediately felt at home.

In mid-May, we rented a car for 10 days. The Fiat Panda was handed over to us at the hotel the day before at no extra charge. The car was clean, reliable, and had only done about 30,000 km. The drop-off and pick-up process was completely hassle-free. No deposit required. The insurance package is all-inclusive, so just hand over the keys at reception. Very good value for money. The fuel policy – as agreed – is OK, although full to full would be better. I recommend the company without reservation.

Everything was perfect. I booked through Autokreta.de. The communication beforehand was clear, friendly, and hassle-free. I was able to pay half of the rental price upfront via PayPal, instead of having to bring everything in cash upon pick-up.
The price was fair and, despite the all-inclusive package, significantly cheaper than with the larger providers.
Pick-up was also smooth and quick, as was return with the key box.
The rented Fiat Panda was absolutely fine. One parking light bulb was broken, but that's something you can probably overlook...

I'll definitely use Autokreta.de again on my next visit to Crete! Efcharisto.

Everything went perfectly! The car was as described. The handover took place on time, and when an unforeseen problem arose with the car during the stay, it was replaced immediately. Best car rental experience ever! After bad experiences with the typical large low-cost providers, we simply asked the small company by email, but our special requests such as USB and Aux were still taken into account at a great price. Completely unproblematic processing, all inclusive and the whole thing without a credit card deposit. We will book here again!

In April 2025, I used a car for 8 days in Crete, rented in Chania and returned in Heraklion. Two-step booking (I decided to change the car shortly before departure) without additional costs and very friendly. Both the collection of the car and the return were lightning fast and stress-free. The car in very good condition performed excellently on the Cretan mountain roads. Next time in Crete, I will definitely use the nice services of Autotravel again. I like the company's principles: a low fee for returning at another airport, full insurance and car rental also for drivers over eighty.

We chose Autocrete based on a recommendation. I chose a car from home in the spring and agreed on a handover date at the end of August. He arrived at the hotel on time in the morning, prepared a short report and parked himself in the large car park at Chania airport a week later. Handed in the key at the service and over to the airport.
The entire process was extremely easy and without much fanfare.
In Crete we will always use Auto Crete.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Nothing really seemed too much trouble. Our flight was late and we had no way of contacting the team but they waited until late for us to arrive. The car was just what we’d asked for. No one was inspecting areas of the car it was just a case of ‘here’s the keys, enjoy your holiday’ - what more could you ask for? We’d definitely use them again we’ve nothing bad to say.

Absolutely brilliant. No fuss, really straightforward and absolutely lovely people who were so pleasant at the Hersonisos branch. Couldn't ask for better service, top class. If ever I visit Crete again, I'll go with this company for a rental car.
